It’s Almost Christmas

Many people do not have enough time and patience in storing their outdoor Christmas lights aside from finding it difficult to do it.  Because of this, they either throw away the lights after each use or give them to their relatives or friends.  But if you know the proper way on how to store outdoor Christmas lights, you probably would have it done in past years to save the beautiful lights from being discarded.

The first thing that you have to do in order to use an effective way on how to store outdoor Christmas lights is separate the short string of lights from the long ones.  Unplug each strand to make it easier for you to distinguish the short strands from the longer ones.  Then, put the short ones in one container and the long ones in another container with bulbs facing upward.  This way, you will not find it hard locating the kind of lights that you need by just looking at the label that you have to write in each container.

Make sure that you place a cushion beneath the lights to protect them from damage.  Don’t put anything heavy on top of the lights that can destroy the bulbs.  Just cover them with a piece of soft material to protect them from the cover of the container.  Label each container containing the short ones as well as the container with long strands of lights.

Another way on how to store outdoor Christmas lights for use in coming years is to preserve their packaging box.  This can be the easiest way of storing them on the way they were arranged in their respective boxes when you bought them.  Label each box corresponding to the lights that they contain for easy searching after each use of the outdoor Christmas lights.

Storing other types of Christmas ornaments is easier if you use boxes designed for just that purpose. These boxes should also be labeled clearly so you will know where to use them next year.
